Today's Thought: CHOSEN TO SHOW FORTH!

      "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light" (1 Peter 2:9 KJV)

God had chosen the believers before the foundation of the world. The reason for your salvation is not your decision but God's; because no man can come to Christ, except the Father draw the person. From Today's text: you are a chosen generation but it is not enough to know who you are; you must understand the purpose in order to fulfill it. When the purpose of a thing is not known, the abuse is inevitable. Nevertheless, God unfolds the purpose of chosen us in the scriptures, as we can see from the text above. You are chosen to show forth the praises of God, that called us out of the world to stand out.

You are chosen to show forth the peculiarity of the Kingdom. In order words; wherever you are, you are to exhibit the Kingdom values instead of the world values. The world shows forth corruption, furnication, wickedness, hatred, selfishness, lies, pride, envy, strive etc; but as a believer: you are to show forth love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, kindness, truthfulness, trustworthiness and all other values of the Kingdom of God. God is counting on you today to fulfill your purpose on the earth. Christianity is not just about saying good faith words to make you feel good; but also showing forth good works in the world, that bring praises to our God. Therefore, go forth and show forth our peculiar values as a peculiar people of the God's kind of values. Shalom!
